Eleven day cruises between Moscow and Saint Petersburg on S-Cruises ships worth particular attention.

These itineraries include 3-day visits to the capitals of Russia – Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Discover every bit of these cities during the several days and experience service and comfort on the ship.

St. Petersburg is a city with a rich history, reflected in every cathedral, palace, monument and facade so that it is impossible to limit yourself to a few hours getting to know it! You will have a great opportunity to see the highlights of Saint Petersburg during the cruise, such as St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Hermitage, Peter and Paul Fortress, the Church of Our Savior on the Spilt Blood, the Bronze Horseman Statue, famous Nevskiy Prospect with the Admiralty and many others.

Moscow is a capital of the largest country in the world with its unique history, intricately combines the oldest monuments, buildings and modern architecture. It is impossible to be in Moscow and not to see the Kremlin, the Red Square, the Cathedral of the Christ the Savior, Arbat Street, Vorobyovy Gory as well as a lot of parks and gardens.

Apart of that during the cruise you will sail the Ladoga and Onega lakes with stops at magical islands of Valaam and Kizhi.

Day 1:  Moscow

Welcome to Moscow. This evening, enjoy dinner and live music on board.

Day 2: Moscow
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Discover Russia’s capital on an included city tour. Relax over an included lunch in a city center restaurant. In the afternoon, you have an amazing time viewing Kremlin’s best-known architectural treasures: the Assumption, Annunciation and Archangel Michael cathedrals with a visit one of them. An optional evening excursion is available.

Day 3: Moscow

Explore Moscow further or take advantage of one of the optional excursions available. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon’s cruising and enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner on board elegant MS Moonlight Sonata this evening before tonight’s show.

Day 4: Uglich

Welcome to the fascinating and ancient city of Uglich, part of the “Golden Ring” of cities surrounding Moscow. Be prepared for a panorama of magnificent architectural monuments. After lunch, you will visit the former Kremlin of Uglich, St. Dmitry on the Blood Church and Transfiguration Cathedral.

Day 5: Yaroslavl

Yaroslavl another Golden Ring city. Tour this ancient town rich in monuments. During the excursion, you visit the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet (outside), Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (inside) featuring detailed frescoes and icons. Also, you take a walk the covered food market, where you may shop for handcrafted souvenirs. Return to your ship for lunch and departure.

Day 6: Goritsy

Dive into the tranquil atmosphere of this extraordinarily picturesque small river town of Goritsy. A bus will drive you to one of the major Orthodox strongholds of Old Russia, the Monastery of St. Cyril on the White Lake. Founded in the 14th century, the monastery has preserved its magnificent architecture and fascinates the visitors by its wonderful collection of Russian Orthodox icons and majestic churches.

Day 7: Kizhi

Explore the preserved island of Kizhi. It is an open-air museum with a unique collection of wooden churches and chapels. During a walk on the island, you can see peasant houses, bell towers, windmills which were all collected from different parts of the Russian North. Discover a signature masterpiece — the 22-dome Transfiguration Cathedral (1714), that was built without a single nail. The museum’s collection is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Day 8: Mandrogui
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Taste a traditional Russian barbecue-shashlik. A folk ensemble will accompany your meal. Then you will have a walk around this amazing Mandrogui village inhabited by talented craftsmen. The village illustrates the traditions and lifestyle of Russia’s past.

Day 9: St. Petersburg

This morning, admire St Petersburg’s historic center on an included tour and take in highlights such as the Old Stock Exchange and Rostral Columns, the impressive Winter Palace facade, and Nevsky Prospect with its ornate dome Church of the Resurrection and beautiful St Isaac Cathedral. In addition, you will visit Peter and Paul Fortress — a burial place of almost all the Russian emperors and empresses from Peter the Great to Nicholas II and his family. An optional evening excursion is available.

Day 10: St. Petersburg

Visit the world-famous Hermitage Museum on an included excursion, housed in the winter palace of Catherine the Great. One of the largest museums in the world and founded in 1764, its collection includes over 2.7 million items. During the tour, you explore the main collection of the Hermitage, including the masterpieces of Italian Art collection (Leonardo da Vinci), Dutch Art (Rembrandt), Spanish Art (Ribera, Velazquez) and Egyptian hall, War Gallery of 1812, St. George Hall, the Peter the Great (Small Throne) Room. An optional evening excursion is available.

Day 11: St. Petersburg
